Gumption, LLC is official

We signed our final papers today making Gumption, LLC an official entity. It’s a big moment for us. We hope for many successful projects ahead. Wish us luck on our new adventure.

The Giftag team that Thomas works with at Best Buy was asked by Google to talk about their experience re-platforming giftag.com for Google App Engine. Curt, Jerry and Thomas really show their enthusiasm for the platform. They recognize the constraints and limitations but see them more as rules to follow rather than barriers.

If you are curious about the t-shirt Thomas is wearing, it’s the most recent The Skullcranes attire.

Gaegene Released

Gaegene

I am pleased to announce the 0.1 release of Gaegene, a collection of general purpose models, utilities, and mix-in classes to help develop Google App Engine web apps.  It was created while developing Giftag for Best Buy.

The 0.1 release contains two modular apps to help simplify two common design patterns, counters and slugs.  Future releases will also help with images, pagination, and tagging.

The project’s main repository and wiki, as well as a test/example webapp are hosted on bitbucket.org.
